How to set up & use twitter

First what is twitter? Twitter is a social networking site or web 2.0. It can be used for keeping in touch with old friends or meeting new ones.

We will be using it as a marketing tool to get traffic. So first you need to set up an account, go to https://twitter.com/ and click on get started – join.

You will see where you need to add details. If you can use your name or a variation of it as your username, possible use an underscore.

Fill in the rest of the details and click on create my account. This will bring you to a page where you can enter your email details to bring through your contact list and add friends that way or click on skip, this to move to the next page.

Next we need to make a few changes so click on profile and you will see where you can click to add a photo of yourself. You can browse your computer to find the image and click save.

Next lets change the design; this is where you can add a background image in the same way as adding a photo. This can make you stand out from the crowd but dont get crazy as were using this to get traffic.

Next click on account and you will see that you can add an URL for your blog or website. This is important as this can be seen from your twitter home page.

You can also add a very brief bio or (5 free steps to online wealth) etc. This will also be shown on the twitter home page.

Lets look at the other buttons you can click on. Password is where you can change your password.

Devices, is where you can set up your mobile phone number so you can update twitter over your phone or receive updates.

Notices, is where you can set up what you want to be notified about.

Next you will need to start making updates on what youre doing etc. You made a new blog post on? Free gifts, free training, you found a great resource etc.

Next you will need to start getting friends or followers. Type in a marketers name and follow them and some of there followers and in return some of them will start to follow you.

Add a section to your blog or website asking people to join you on twitter, maybe offer them a bribe.
